Visit the Auvergne

A land of water and fire!

A land of water and fire full of wide-open spaces, there are infinite ways to get away from it all here. Whether you want to hike along the slopes of the ancient volcanoes, set off by bike down the small roads and paths, fish for trout in the white water of the rivers, or explore fortified castles and Medieval abbeys, you’re sure to have a blast in the Auvergne.

From the Cantal, the largest volcano in Europe, to the iconic Chaîne des Puys, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, these are the volcanoes that have always shaped this region of a thousand faces. Crown jewel of the Chaîne des Puys and a Grand Site de France, the Puy de Dôme offers a majestic view over the entire chain of mountains, with its lakes, its lava formations, and its views over the Massif du Sancy, the Plaine de la Limagne and Clermont-Ferrand.

The Auvergne is also a place to rejuvenate the mind and body, and people come here to unwind in a peaceful environment.
